Statement of Purpose review for international students
A Statement of Purpose (SOP) is often the only part of a visa or university application where an officer reads your own words. A weak SOP can sink an otherwise strong file. MyCaseworks reviews your draft, marks edits, flags gaps, and—on the Essential and Enhanced tiers—has a US-licensed attorney check visa-relevant arguments for accuracy and consistency with your record.
Attorney review by US-licensed attorneys. Lead US-immigration reviewer is Denise Platter Cabrera (CA Bar #298948).

How it works
- Upload your document and any supporting files via the intake form.
- We confirm scope of work and a turnaround estimate.
- Our reviewer marks edits and writes a summary of the key changes.
- You receive the annotated document at the email you provided.
Who reviews your document
Reviewers are US-licensed attorneys and editorial staff. Lead US-immigration reviewer is Denise Platter Cabrera (CA Bar #298948). For UK and Canada SOPs, editorial staff handle the review; attorney-review programs for those jurisdictions are under development.
Frequently asked questions
- How long does SOP review take?
- The Essential tier delivers an annotated document within 5 business days of submission. Basic turnaround is 7–10 business days. Enhanced adds a live video consultation scheduled within 3 business days.
- Do you rewrite my SOP for me?
- No. We mark edits, flag weak arguments, and note where evidence is missing. You implement the changes. This keeps the document in your voice and avoids misrepresentation.
- What if my SOP is for a refusal recovery?
- Choose the Enhanced tier. A live consultation lets you explain the refusal history and the attorney can flag how the new SOP should address the prior grounds without contradicting the record.
- Is this attorney advice?
- No. The Basic and Essential tiers are editorial review. The Enhanced tier includes a live consultation with a US-licensed attorney, but this is document-specific guidance, not retained legal representation. For case-specific legal advice, retain an immigration attorney.
What happens after you book
- Upload your draft SOP and supporting context (program, prior refusals, funding story).
- We confirm scope, jurisdiction, and turnaround for your tier.
- You receive tracked edits plus a short memo on risk language and missing proof points.
- You revise and file — or book a higher tier for an attorney pass where available.
When this service is not the right fit
- You need a licensed attorney to represent you before USCIS, UKVI, or IRCC — we prepare and review documents; we do not appear as counsel of record unless separately engaged.
- Your deadline is inside 24 hours and the tier you selected cannot meet it.
- You want us to invent facts or forge financial documents — we will refuse.
